These bursaries are supported by the family of Jim Dingwall to whom we are extremely grateful for their continued support to the club. They are designed to support our athletes during further education by providing financial assistance to those who remain committed to the club and show continued athletics improvement during their studies. The criteria are.
- Fully paid, first claim member of FVH for at least two years.
- In full time further education during the preceding year.
Those who meet the criteria are invited to complete the form below and submit to fvhcto@hotmail.com by 31st Dec. Completed forms will be assessed on their merits by a panel, who will then recommend to the committee what awards should be made. The awards that may be awarded in each year are:
- Up to one award of £250
- Up to three awards of £100
Please note there is no obligation to award any of the above amounts, it will be up to the panel to assess each application, and make appropriate recommendations to the committee. Athletes receiving a bursary will be expected to remain committed to the club JIM DINGWALL: Born in 1949 Jim was educated in Edinburgh at Herriot’s school where he first became interested in athletics. He later studied at Edinburgh University and became a Research Chemist with BP inGrangemouth. This is when become a club member, enjoying tremendous success – some of which is detailed below. Jim moved to Hull in the early eighties through his work and continued his running with Kingston upon Hull. However, he maintained his links to FVH and his many friends within. He sadly passed away after an illness in 2005. To mark his memory, FVH added his name to our annual Round The Houses 10K road race – there is also a race in Hull that still carries his name as well.
