CANCELLED – Devilla Forest Races 09/02/25

A message from Carnegie Harriers

We regret to inform you that the Carnegie Harriers Devilla 5K and 15K races, scheduled for 9th February, have been cancelled due to extensive damage in Devilla forest caused by Storm Eowyn. We have been in contact with Forestry and Land Scotland but due to the sheer volume of work required throughout their forests, they cannot guarantee that the trails would be cleared and safe in time for race day. The safety of our runners, volunteers, and supporters is our top priority, and this decision has not been made lightly.

Level 1 official course dates

Would any of our parents or helpers like to help build our volunteer workforce and become a level 1 official?

Throughout the year at every event we need to provide enough officials to help support the day to run smoothly. Did you know that even if the athletes score top points we still lose points if we have not provided enough qualified officials?

Don’t worry! There is still plenty of time for you to sign up to one of the officials training days listed below. They last about 3-4 hours each and the dates listed here are all held at the Emirates Arena during an event that you might already be attending.

25 January – Level 1 Track,

2 February – Level 1 Starter / Starters Assistant

8 February – Level 1Timekeeping

1 March – Level 1 Field

9 March Level 1 Photo Finish

Once you are at the event look out for the team banner where you can collect a number and give your name to a team manager. If you still have your number (11) from the last League event please bring it along but also remember to let a team manager know you are there. Remember to bring pins.

Good luck everyone!

Our newest Scotland representative as Danni selected for 100k (yes 100k) Scotland Team.

The Good Morning Runners training squad have another Scottish International vest to add to the list.

Danni (Danielle Callaghan) has been selected to represent Scotland in the upcoming 100k Anglo Celtic Plate Home Countries International which will be held at Mallory Park near Leister in May.

To be considered for selection in the Scotland team which consists of a maximum 5 woman & 5 men Danni had to meet a standard of 8 hours 55 minutes,  Danni’s winning performance in the Blast Running 6 hour ultra earlier in the season would have doubtless been very impressive in the eyes of the Scotland team management.

Well done Danni! We are so proud of you.
