First timers Etheridge & Gardinier have definitely caught the bug having already signed up for their next games – stalwarts Brown & Randalls will coach & guide them along the way.
The windy Ayrshire Athletics Arena hosted the outdoors National Track Relay Championships, on 28th June 2026.
Falkirk Victoria Harriers had 5 teams competing at the event.
Our u18 girls were first up, when Lara, Megan & Jorjey made up the 3x800m team that finished 4th.
The u14 groups were out in force with our girls Isla, Saffron, Ariana & Alexa up next in the medley, a 600 x 200 x 600 x 200. The girls ran strong finishing 5th in their heat & 11th overall in their race – 1st place in the style awards as always for the coolest looking team!
We had availability to run 2 u14 boys teams, so up first were James, Mason, Isaac & Fletcher. Newcomer Mason ran in his first ever race exceptionally well and will be a great addition to our u14 boys team. They finished 5th in their heat & 13th overall.
Then our 2nd u14 boys team Archie, Ruaraidh, William & Benjamin fought for 3rd place in their heat which was 5th overall on the day.
Lastly – our camera shy u16 boys, hid from the camera but ran their race beautifully! Hamish, Ben, Alexander & Jude ran a medley race of 300m x 800m x 200m x 600m. Finishing 3rd in their heat & 7th overall on the day.
As always, a very well done to all athletes who represented the club today. Huge thank you to the parents, coaches & helpers for the efforts you put in making days like today possible!
Falkirk Victoria Harriers – SuperTeams Cumbernauld • Saturday 30th May Falkirk Victoria Harriers took a talented and enthusiastic squad to the Scottish Athletics SuperTeams event in Cumbernauld, where seven of our young athletes competed across the three‑discipline format of sprint, jump and throw. The team delivered a brilliant all‑round performance, full of energy, determination and club spirit, with all seven athletes achieving at least one personal best during the competition. FVH’s top four scorers — Costa Adeyemi, Max Herd, Tess Rennie and Annabelle Koch — combined to form a superb Team A, whose consistency across all events earned them a 3rd place finish on the day and a well‑deserved place in the SuperTeams Finals. A fantastic achievement for all four athletes. FVH’s Team B — Anna‑Leigh Meaney, Holly Hogarth and Yasmin Giwa — competed with only three scoring athletes, which meant they were not eligible to qualify for the finals. Despite this disadvantage, they still produced an exceptional combined performance and finished as the highest‑placed three‑athlete team on the day.
Special mention for Costa Adeyemi – Top‑Scoring Boy at the Event 75m Sprint — 10.40s Long Jump — 4.46m Turbo Javelin — 16.90m A dominant all‑round performance that placed him at the top of the boys’ leaderboard.
These results underline the strength and promise within the club, and the future for Falkirk Victoria Harriers is looking exceptionally bright.
Chris Lewis one of our endurance group runners recently travelled to Cape Town to take part in the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon. Not known as a pb course, however Chris smashed his pb to finish in 2:42:06. Whilst there he got to meet the GOAT Eliud Kipchoge.
We had 4 of our endurance group runners travel to the Troon 10k recently. Conditions were a bit challenging but that didn’t stop them all running amazing. Jamie McAldine in 36.07, just off his new pb set at RTH. Katie Christie, a massive pb in 37.21 and was actually second female. Chris Torbet got a new pb in 39.38 and Katie Bennie smashing her pb to finish in 41.26.
On 10th May Lorna Brown, a stalwart of the Highland Games scene travelled to Kempen International Highland Games in Germany, where she competed in various events. In the first event, the Open Stone she won with 9.57m. She then won the Caber with a 12 o’clock throw. In the Heavy Hammer she threw 22.01m for 2nd place. Then she won the Light Weight for Distance with a best of 16.59m & the Weight over Bar joint first with 4.50m. Lorna made her club Falkirk Victoria Harriers and Scotland proud by coming away the victor of the games . What an achievement by one so young in her mid 50’s. Well done Lorna.

At the end of last year we issued an email about the possibility of an after party following the Nationals XC at Callendar Park on 21/02/2026. The initial proposed venue fell through but we have managed to book the function room at Falkirk Tryst Golf Club, Larbert from 7pm onwards. Uptake has been good but we are looking for more athletes and parents to celebrate not just the end of the XC season but SAIL and the forthcoming outdoor T and F season. Cost is £10 which includes a finger buffet and disco. If you are interested please email Jimmy Blair at jimmy_falkirk@hotmail.combefore Wednesday 11 February. Many thanks
