Throws Grand Prix

On Saturday, attention turned to Grangemouth Stadium, where Scottish Athletics hosted a Throws Grand Prix. Several Falkirk athletes were in action across the throwing events, with a number of personal bests and notable performances achieved.

In the U16 girls’ competitions, Remi Carnegie impressed in the discus with a personal best throw of 21.18m, and later added 7.74m in the shot put. Sophia-Belle Daye also competed strongly, recording 6.32m in the shot and achieving a new personal best of 24.42m in the javelin. Lorna Brown competed in the senior events, producing a throw of 29.28m in the discus and 31.73m in the hammer, showing consistency across both disciplines. On the boys’ side, Austin Gardinier (U16) recorded 16.95m in the discus and 8.03m in the shot put. Lucas Etheridge also had an outstanding day, setting a new club record for his age group in the hammer with a throw of 22.71m, alongside a strong 10.50m effort in the shot.
